La Commissione Europea, attraverso la European Defence Agency, ha aperto l’European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP), che mira a promuovere la competitività, l'efficienza e la capacità di innovazione dell'industria della difesa in tutta l'Unione.
Sono stati pubblicati 12 call contenenti un totale di 24 topic, con un budget totale pari a 163,5 milioni di Euro:
1) Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear (CBRN) detection capabilities and medical countermeasures;
2) Underwater control contributing to resilience at sea;
3) Counter Unmanned Air Systems (UASs) capabilities;
4) Cyber situational awareness and defence capabilities, defence networks and technologies for secure communication and information sharing;
5) Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and early warning capabilities;
6) Maritime surveillance capabilities;
7) Upgrade of current and development of next generation ground-based precision strike capabilities;
8) Ground combat capabilities;
9) Air combat capabilities;
10) Simulation and virtualisation tools and equipment for training, exercises, systems design, development and integration, testing and validation;
11) Defence technologies supported by artificial intelligence;
12) Innovative and future-oriented defence solutions (quest’ultimo riservato alle SME).
La scadenza è il 1° Dicembre 2020.
