The Evolving Textbook
Field: Higher Education
Unipi Team Leader: Michele Lanzetta, Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering
The Evolving Textbook project addresses the need for a more flexible and learners-centred approach to higher education textbooks. In contrast to traditional textbooks, the TET project will create digitized, highly adaptable, and personalized textbook content that will better suit the needs of teachers and learners. The ever-evolving textbook will allow for the inclusion of recent scientific developments in the selected fields and will support active involvement of learners in textbook evolution.
The project will develop an innovative textbook platform that will upgrade current online educational platforms used by partners. The consortium will define tools that will implement the core textbook content used today and enhance it using advanced functionalities. The platform will be deployed at all partners’ institutions and evaluated to assess the benefits for teachers and learners. During the dissemination, a wider impact of project results on the national and EU level will be achieved.
The project will result in an innovative platform for evolving higher education textbooks. The platform will be integrated into existing online platforms of partners’ institutions and will enable fast implementation into HE courses. Teachers and learners will benefit greatly from the flexibility and adaptability of the platform. The results will also be applicable to educational programmes in other fields of education, training, youth, and sport.
