Global health: an interdisciplinary perspective
Since global health is a cross-sectoral, interdisciplinary and international field of enquiry that requires skills and tools from the human, life, legal, economic and social sciences as well as medical sciences, the course involves professionals from a wide variety of disciplines and contexts as lecturers, drawing on the experience and expertise represented within the Interdisciplinary Centre for Peace Sciences at the University of Pisa and the Global Health knowledge hub of the European Alliance Circle U.

Course details:
The course will be held in 12 seminar and workshop sessions lasting 2 hours, for a total of 24 hours. The course will be held in presence at the FIB D1 lecture hall of the Polo Fibonacci for students of the University of Pisa, and remotely for students of the other Circle-U universities. The seminars will be conducted in Italian by Unipi lecturers and in English by lecturers from the other Circle U. universities, the slides will be in English, the workshops will be conducted in Italian.
Expected Learning Outcomes
Having completed this course, students:
- demonstrate an understanding of Global Health
- understand how cultural and socioeconomic factors influence individual health status and health-related behavior
- can critically assess and understand information
- can work and communicate across disciplines
