Launched in 2017 with an investment of 1.5 million euros and then consolidated in subsequent years with resources totalling the same amount, the call aims to promote the coordination of the University of Pisa with Horizon projects and other European research programs.

Funds available:

• support of up to €5,000 for the organization of international meetings, hosted in Pisa, facilitating the establishment of partnerships with a view to submitting proposals;
• €30,000 to €50,000 for coordinators who submitted proposals that were not funded, but which exceeded the minimum evaluation threshold;
• €75,000 for coordinators of proposals that have been awarded funding, to be allocated to providing a research grant, co-financing a fixed-term type a) research contract or covering other costs of the funded project.

BIHO - CALL FOR HORIZON AND BEYOND UNIVERSITY INCENTIVES

The BIHO 2021 - Call for Horizon Europe and Beyond University Incentives was issued by the University with Rector's decree DR n. 198/2021 of February 3, 2021.

The University also confirmed its commitment to increasing the number of projects funded in 2021 and therefore its competitiveness at national and international level.

Funds available for:

1. the organization in Pisa of international meetings facilitating the establishment of partnerships with a view to submitting proposals for the funding programs listed in Annex A; 
   
   
2. the coordinators of proposals for the funding programs listed in Annex A who submitted proposals which did not receive funds, but which exceeded the minimum evaluation threshold; 
   
   
3. the coordinators of proposals for the funding programs listed in Annex A that have been awarded funding.

Previous editions of the BIHO call

The BIHO call reached its fifth consecutive edition in 2021: issued for the first time in 2017 (Rector's Decree no. 77/2017), the call was also activated in 2018 (Rector's Decree no. 303/2018), in 2019 (Rector's Decree No. 183/2019) and in 2020 (Rector's Decree No. 181 of 30 January 2020).
