The IISMA - Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards is a programme offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to fund Indonesian students for mobility programs at top universities and reputable industries overseas.
Thanks to IISMA, Indonesian students can spend one semester to some of the best universities abroad and have the chance to acquire soft skills required for a future job as for example: sense-making, social intelligence, novel & adaptive thinking, cross-cultural competency, computational thinking, new-media literacy, transdisciplinarity, design mindset, cognitive load management, and virtual collaboration.
Overall, IISMA will expose Indonesian students to international academic and cultural diversity. The scheme is centrally managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT).
In the academic year 2024/2025, the University of Pisa welcomed 26 students in the first semester selected by the MoeCRT and coming from different universities in Indonesia. The students will be enrolled as free movers.
